I dreaded the idea …

… of church shopping when we moved to Chicago. Besides the fact that I know there is no perfect church, it is mentally exhausting to research the churches, find out what time the services start and then show up to see if the church might be a good fit. We had visited several churches on the North Side and couldn’t find one that was right. Trey, the pastor at the time, graduated from Candler before I began my degree so we thought it would be a nice break from the church shopping to check out the parish where he was serving. And when we arrived we were welcomed by several folks, we experienced joy-filled worship and we left thinking it would be great to visit again sometime. The next Sunday we decided to go back to Holy Covenant and eventually realized we were done searching.
