Dignity Diner

involved1 Dignity Diner

Every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m., Chicago’s homeless and hungry are invited to be our guests for dinner. Neighborhood volunteers and parishioners welcome forty to sixty men and women for a sit-down, restaurant-style vegetarian meal. Feeding body and soul, Dignity Diner is a place where compassion and respect are always on the menu.

There are several ways in which you can contribute.

  • Serve a meal – contact Kara Teeple
  • Provide Hospitality – Diner guests really enjoy one on one interaction and so what better way to help than to take this role on and to make it the best it can be! This could mean just sitting at a table visiting with the guests, thinking of games like bingo that can be arranged for just after the meal, or really anything else creative to engage Diner guests and to make them feel as welcome as we can. Volunteer any Tuesday night or contact Kara Teeple.
  • Bake dessert – Maybe you are an awesome baker and would like to bake something for dessert for the guests. Sign up for a Tuesday night dessert donation on the board at services or contact Kara Teeple.
  • Donate Supplies – If you want to contribute, we’re always looking for things like lemonade, heavy duty paper plates, styrofoam cups, and more! See our pdf flyer for more details or contact Casey
