Practices

U2 Eulogy 015 PracticesHoly Covenant is a part of The United Methodist Church, a theological tradition that emphasizes God’s grace and love for all people, the intersection of spirituality and justice, and the calling to make a difference in the world. Our congregation is made up of people of diverse beliefs and traditions, including those who agree and disagree on a variety of church teachings. Learn more about our mission.

Wayfarers Group

Maybe you’ve been with us at Holy Covenant once; maybe you’ve been with us several times. Maybe you’re looking for a church home and want to join us; maybe you’re not even sure this church thing is for you. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you’re invited to discover more about Holy Covenant. For information about Wayfarers Group meetings, email Pastor Matthew.

Eucharist/Holy Communion

During our morning services we celebrate the sacrament of Eucharist at least once a month on the first Sunday of the month, and often more frequently. Communion is offered weekly at our Sunday-evening service (7 p.m.). All people are invited to experience the mystery of Christ’s presence in this meal of reconciliation, celebration and new life.

Baptism

Baptism, the sacrament of initiation into the Church, is a living sign of God’s grace and love. Because it is God’s choice and not ours, baptism is open to people of every age. The waters of the font welcome and cleanse us, name us and claim us as God’s own, and set us on the path of our faith journey. Please contact the Pastor to discuss Baptismal preparation.

Children

Children of all ages are welcome! An optional children’s area is located in the northwest corner of the sanctuary, there is a changing table in the east gallery restroom, and nursery care is available in the basement from 9 until 11 am.

Community Life

Worship continues with a community life celebration every Sunday, as we gather for coffee, snacks and conversation in the church’s art gallery. Here you can talk with folks you met during worship, make plans to grab Sunday lunch at a local restaurant, sign up for upcoming church activities and chat with the pastor. Community Life also hosts other gatherings and activities throughout the year.

Holy Covenant United Methodist Church has always lived out of a dynamic vision, as people on a journey, committed to a fresh way of being church: open and affirming to all people, blending ancient and contemporary forms of worship and arts, and, through radical discipleship, working for a better, fairer world.
